Hey--where did I get those wrinkles?

Skin care around and after 60
One of the most important skin care approaches for any age is to keep your face moisturized and wear sunscreen. After 60 it is important to exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated, don't smoke, exercise regularly and eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains and protein. Older skin needs a faithful application of moisturizers morning and night. Use products that are designated for older skin. Apply the thinest first to allow complete absorption. Because your skin is older use a mild cleanser and exfoliate gently.

Your moisturizer should contain retinoids and antioxidants (such as Vitamins E and C) because these compounds help cells regenerate.Retinoids can also be labeled as a Vitamin A serum or moisturizer. They will act as an exfolliator to help get rid of dry skin

Applying Vitamin E to your skin can help reduce redness and swelling. It will make a more pliant and softer skin. Products with alpha hydroxy acids will help with the tone and texture of older skin and help alleviate wrinkles and fine lines. A clean face is one of the best things, however, as we get older our pours enlarge and alpha hydroxy acids help reduce the look of these as well. Women's health.health-care.net reports glycolic acid is the best form of alpha hydroxy because it helps the production of collagen, making wrinkles less apparent.

If retonoids aggravate your skin, Kinetin is a good substitue. It is gentler for sensitive skin. Peptides are also a skin care recommendation, especially copper peptides because they firm and reduce appearance of fine lines.

As Jacqueline Bissett states as spokeswoman for Avon Anew Platinum, a balanced diet with the essential vitamins and minerals, plenty of exercise and hydration and a positive outlook all help to keep your complexion young and fresh.

Two of my favorites
American Beauty Uplifting Firming Face Cream SPF 15

The sun can induce various kinds of damage to your skin cells that prompt sagging and a lack of firmness. American Beauty's firming facial cream combats that with built-in sunscreen ingredients that meet the minimum specifications of the American Cancer Society. Begoun says its ingredients are "standout" thanks to an effective combination of cell-communicating ingredients and antioxidants. This is awesome! I love this product. First, the lotion, its thicker than a traditional lotion, but it lighter than a cream. It leaves a very nice sheen to my skin - not silica or mica type shimmer, but a real sheen - like a glow.
The SPF is 15 . It protects skin from UVA and UVB radiation and is considered to have no risk of skin irritation (Sources: www.photodermatology.com/sunprotection.htm; and Skin Therapy Letter, 1997, volume 2, number 5) - Paula Begouin"
