Mascara

You're told to throw it out after 3 months, but with careful handling it can last for five months.

The basic reasons to throw out mascara is because, it annoyingly dries up or it can become contaminated. Eliminate these culprits. Don't pump the wand back and forth. This forces air which dries up the mascara into the tube and bacteria as well. Twist the brush as you pull it out. To remedy cakey mascara, a 15 second dip into boiling water will soften the mascara and help keep it germ free.

My favorite because it doesn't leave the lashes stiff and unreal:

Rimmel Lash Acclerator

The claim:
Lashes look up to 117% longer in 30 days and up to 80% longer instantly. Advanced ultra-lengthening formula for beautifully long, remarkably strong lashes. Exclusive, natural GROW-LASH Complex with Procapil® extends and fortifies lashes. With continued use lashes not only look longer, but lusher and more numerous. About $9 in stores such as CVS and Walgreens.

My view:
This mascara goes on smooth and lush. It never becomes stiff. I think it strenthened my lashes and lengthened them although not 117%. It is a good product that can be used every day. It is, however, not waterproof or tear proof.
