Draw Yourself Perfect

As we age, our hair may thin, but so do your eyebrows. Or, they may lighten in color until they appear non-existent. They are one of the most important but neglected facial features. When groomed well, an eyebrow gives you an instant and free eye lift.

Here a few cool tips.

Find your best shape.
Use a mirror a pencil and eyeliner and then, connect the dots.

Pinpoint the start
Hold the pencil against the side of your nose, vertically. Mark with eyeliner where the end of the pencil meets the brow. Hairs between the brows will be taken care of later.

Locate your arch
Slant the pencil from your mouth center, past the edge of your nose to the outside of your iris. Mark a dot at the arch with eyeliner.

Determine the length

Your brows should stop where the pencil reaches 45 degrees from the tip of you
of your nose to the outer corner of your eye. Mark where the pencil touches the brow.

Trim and Pluck
Comb brows upward
and then trim anything that stick up above the arch

Pluck strays

Don't overtweeze

Finishing touches
Color in brows

Medium to light hair--go one hue deeper; darker brows use pencil a shade lighter

Fill in sparse areas with pencil

Tiny short strokes will give a natural look

Unruly hairs

Use gel to keep them neat

Mistakes--EEK
Don't use a magnifying mirror
Don't force symmetry, "they're sisters, not twins"
Don't trim too much
Better to tint hairs then pull until bald
Make shapes natural not odd
